I’m Looking for an Eco-Friendly T-Shirt Printer

Posted July 26th, 2010 by Michael Janzen and filed in Clothing, Green Product

It’s not easy to find a company that makesĀ truly eco-friendly custom-printed t-shirts that are made in the USA and use organic fabrics & water based inks. Here’s one that looks great, but their minimum order is 200 shirts. Not sure if I’m ready for that kind of commitment for an experiment. I’d like to offer a t-shirt for sale on Tiny House Design.

Sustainable Swift Industries – more than Handmade Bike Bags

Posted November 3rd, 2009 by Michael Janzen and filed in Bikes, Green Product, Sustainable

While watching a video on Rowdy Kittens I learned of this little bike bag company in Seattle that makes handmade bike bags. It’s an excellent example of how real people can find their own economic freedom through doing what they enjoy in spite of a tough economy. Really inspiring story and great bags!

Curb your appetite for stuff

Here’s another great post on Frugal Dad called 10 Secrets To Curbing Your Appetite For Stuff. He writes a pretty good blog headline too don’t you think? But I digress… what I like about Frugal Dad is that he comes at the whole downsize/simple living thing from the financial side not just the green side. This opens up learning about the benefits of reducing debt and turning away from consumerism to many more people who still think that green means liberal.

This is totally cool… MakerFaire is a festival filled with people that make cool green stuff. It’s like a green-geek inventor extravaganza! I’d love to attend but it’s on Katie’s 3rd birthday weekend so I’d be hard pressed to make it. Maybe next year I’ll enter and bring Nine Tiny Feet.

The World’s Largest DIY Festival

A two-day, family-friendly event to MAKE, create, learn, invent, CRAFT, recycle, think, play and be inspired by celebrating arts, crafts, engineering, food, music, science and technology.

Simple DIY Grey Water System

I want to put a grey water system on the tiny free house and nine tiny feet. This looks like a simple solution but it also looks like there is something to buy. I’d like to find a way of cleaning grey water with a bucket, a plant, and evaporation. Easy DIY Greywater Recycling System: Sloan Aqus
