It’s not easy to find a company that makes truly eco-friendly custom-printed t-shirts that are made in the USA and use organic fabrics & water based inks. Here’s one that looks great, but their minimum order is 200 shirts. Not sure if I’m ready for that kind of commitment for an experiment. I’d like to offer a t-shirt for sale on Tiny House Design.

While watching a video on Rowdy Kittens I learned of this little bike bag company in Seattle that makes handmade bike bags. It’s an excellent example of how real people can find their own economic freedom through doing what they enjoy in spite of a tough economy. Really inspiring story and great bags!

Swift Industries

I spotted this on twitter via @rowdykittens and learned that tiny house folks like Dee Williams sleep on these mattresses. Knowing that we spend so much time sleeping in bed makes me think that the next time we buy bedding we should look at companies like this.

Holy Lamb Organics

I spotted this on Path to Freedom. I love the underground watering pots they sell. I’ve got to make some of those when I get my pottery studio setup again. They also “tithe” 10% of their profits back to the people and the planet through Dervaes Institute™. The only draw back is that their prices seem a bit on the high side to me, but then again I’m a cheapskate. Peddler’s Wagon

The Vast Paver is totally cool. A paver made from 75-95% recycled scrap tire rubber and plastics. Not sure how much it costs but definitely something to consider for a future patio. Saw it on Jetson Green.

Human Powered Machines is a very cool bike company in Eugene, Oregon that makes things like heavy duty bike haulers and bike trailers. Logan from RowdyKittens posted a comment on a recent bookmark I posted and pointed me at this great little bike company.

I’m planning on drawing up a design of a bike trailer based tiny house and posting it on Tiny House Design soon. It would need to be ultralight and aerodynamic. But it looks like I could go up to 500 pounds if I had too; I just can’t imagine how tough that would be haul around. Less IS more… (and easier to tow behind a bike!)

I’ve gotten several comments on Tiny House Design in response to my nine square foot house design that ask for a house small enough to be pulled by a bicycle. Well I think I just found the perfect bike trailer for that tiny house concept. It’s a little expensive but it can hold 300 pounds and the bed is 64″ by 27.25″.

I’m not planning on making Nine Tiny Feet a bike trailer house but I am thinking that I should design a tiny house that can be pulled by a bike. I’ve already been trying to figure out a way to build a ultra-lightweight tiny house, but the 300-pound limit is going to be a challenge.

Toy box made by Argington. It’s made from FSC-certified wood with low-VOC glues and non-toxic finishes. I’m sure it’s very nice but seems better as inspiration for the frugal do-it-yourselfer. Nice to see more companies using green building materials. I spotted it on Inhabitat.
