Composting Toilet that generates Methane
This is not the first time I’ve seen someone turn human waste, yes poop, into methane but this is the first commercially viable solution. I don’t think any composting toilets on the market do what this composting toilet does.

This isn’t commercially viable. This is a toilet stool in which one excretes into a biodegradeable bag that is taken manually to a methane digester.
Methane digesters are not uncommon worldwide, but they are also tricky to operate.
The reason no composting toilets on the market do what this slide presentation shows (note there is no real toilet and certainly not one with a methane digester) is:
1. Composting is an aerobic process. Methane is produced by an anaerobic process.
2. Methane produces odor, so you don’t want that in your toilet.
3. To produce methane, you will have to keep this stuff wet. A waterless composting toilet is designed to be unsaturated (not wet enough for methanogenesis).
